The Netlist Organiser tool is a utility
used to organize a netlist produced from a schematic design in Allegro
format or from the Cadence® Allegro® PCB Layout program.
This tool should be most useful to electronic engineers involved
in hardware design. It has been developed to specifically reformat
the output of a netlist produced from the OrCAD Capture® schematic
design tool using the Allegro output format.
Before moving to layout using the Cadence® Allegro® PCB
Layout program, many circuit designers want to review their netlists:
-
To check that the net names assigned in the schematic appear
as expected in the netlist.
-
To check that pins on certain components are connected to the
right nets. This is often used to check that buses are hooked
up correctly.
-
To organise, search, and compare netlists of a new version
of a schematic to an old one, and verify the changes carried
out - make sure that only nets intended to be changed have
been changed, and no others.
-
To take the net names connected to an IC and import them into
an FPGA tool.
The Netlist Organiser tool will organize
the output of the netlist so that the designer can perform these
tasks more easily.
